Join Teller for the perfect opportunity for youth interested in learning to hunt waterfowl!
This hands-on weekend is designed to give young hunters the skills, confidence, and knowledge they need for a successful and safe waterfowl hunting experience.

Saturday | 10:00 AM–12:00 PM — Firearm Safety & Shooting Range

Sunday | Before Sunrise — Mentored Waterfowl Hunt
Hunt on the Teller Wildlife Refuge
Youth will hunt alongside experienced hunting mentors
Opportunity to put new skills into practice in the field
By the end of the weekend, participants will have the foundation they need to begin their own waterfowl hunting journey in a safe, ethical, and responsible way.
WE PROVIDE
Clay targets
Practice ammunition for 12- and 20-gauge shotguns
Non-toxic shot for hunting
Snacks
Loaner shotguns available, but we encourage you to bring your own gun
REQUIREMENTS
Must have completed and passed the FWP Hunter Education course
Must be eligible to buy a Montana conservation license, state waterfowl license and a federal duck stamp (needs to be purchased before the start of the class)
Must be 12-15 years old
A parent or guardian must accompany participants during the Thursday and Saturday sessions. During the Sunday hunt, participants will be paired with experienced mentors, and parents or guardians may not accompany them in the field.
